Mezz Pro

OWAcoustic premium Mezz Pro is a 15 mm thick, 600×600 mm, textured, white painted, sand covered, fire resistant ceiling tile. It offers 60 minutes / 1 hour fire resistance (REI 60) when installed as a system with our 24 mm tee grid and perimeter trim. Mezz Pro is suitable for use under a standard mezzanine construction using steel C-profiles and 38 mm floorboards. Also, it has fine needling which offers class D sound absorption and is available with a square edge.

NB. When people refer to a ‘fire rated ceiling tile’, that is not the correct phrase. As per the BS EN 13964 standard for suspended ceilings, when discussing fire, there are two fire classifications and both are completely different. The standard discusses ‘Fire Resistance’ and ‘Reaction to fire’, please review the standard in conjunction with BS 476-21 for loadbearing elements of construction. We have completed fire tests for a loadbearing mezzanine floor supporting an evenly distributed load. Warrington Fire assess these tests and have issued a field of application report to certify the system use. If you are unsure what you require, please check your project feasibility with our technical department.

OWA manufactures our mineral wool tiles from natural and recycled materials using a wet-felt process. Our boards contain negligible VOCs and exclude formaldehyde resin in their formulation. Therefore, they contribute to excellent indoor air quality which is ideal for public spaces.

Mezz Pro tiles form a complete suspended ceiling system when combined with our exposed ceiling grid and perimeter trim. They are easy to install and demount for service access. Please note, hold down clips are not required to achieve the fire resistance. OWA mineral board is dense and firm, ensuring the tiles maintain integrity during frequent handling. The solid core ensures particle emissions are low and cut edges are clean, eliminating the need for resealing. Also, the tile density prevents dust settling and marking the surface via air filtration.
