Janus Cosmos / Constellation

OWAcoustic premium Janus Cosmos is a 600×600 mm, 33 mm thick, needled, spatter painted, white acoustic ceiling tile. Janus Constellation is the same size with a smooth painted surface and a swirly needled face pattern. Each variation has fine needling, offers class C sound absorption and 49 dB room to room airborne sound reduction (Dnfw). Both the acoustic ceiling tiles are only available with a square edge.

Janus Cosmos and Janus Constellation acoustic ceiling tiles offer our highest sound insulation value. The tiles can prevent unwanted noise from services within the void from entering the interior space. Plus, if the internal partitions don’t go up to the soffit and only go up to the ceiling, Janus can limit the sound transmission from room to room via the cavity. In particular, we recommend them for offices, retail and education where external noise may be an issue, i.e. rain noise, aircraft etc. The class C sound absorption will also help to lower reverberation times in moderately noisy spaces. If required, the Cosmos face pattern is also available as a plain tile, without needling, but that will only offer class E sound absorption.

OWA manufactures our mineral fibre ceiling tiles from natural and recycled materials using a wet-felt process. Our boards contain negligible VOCs and exclude formaldehyde resin in their formulation. Therefore, they contribute to excellent indoor air quality which is ideal for school or office ceilings.

Janus acoustic ceiling tiles form a complete suspended ceiling system when combined with our exposed ceiling grid and perimeter trim. They are easy to install and demount for service access. OWA mineral board is dense and firm, ensuring the tiles maintain integrity during frequent handling. The solid core ensures particle emissions are low and cut edges are clean, eliminating the need for resealing. Also, the tile density prevents dust settling and marking the surface via air filtration.
