Hemp

Hemp plants are the source for the hemp fibres we use in our products. It grows twice a year and forms more biomass (bound CO2) faster than wood.

Natural hemp fibres

Hemp is a sustainable material which grows twice a year and we utilise all parts of the plant. The fine fibres are used for our canopy while the courser, woody stems are used for our tiles. The renewable natural hemp fibrous material offers a natural 'straw' like texture. Each product consumes less carbon during manufacture, compared to the amount the hemp absorbs while growing. Thus, resulting in negative carbon usage, producing negative A1 – A3 GWP values. Hemp also produces biomass faster than wood, locking away CO₂ more efficiently.
