Ceiling design plays an important part in managing the acoustic comfort of an interior space and sometimes it’s necessary to think outside of the box. That’s exactly what we are helping architects and designers do with our FreeStyle range of acoustic baffles, developed to bring greater creative flexibility to projects with exposed soffits or open‑plan layouts.
Our FreeStyle collection includes both FreeStyle cells and FreeStyle baffles, offering specifiers a choice of free‑hanging acoustic elements that combine strong visual impact with high levels of sound absorption.
FreeStyle cells are available in four three‑dimensional designs, including Star, Circle, Asymmetrical and Square, each created by combining varied baffle lengths into sculptural forms. We manufacture our acoustic baffles from 40mm glass wool with a fleece finish. The cells deliver equivalent class A sound absorption and one can suspend them individually or group them to create larger floating arrangements. The acoustic baffle assemblies can also be hung at different heights or surface‑mounted using OWA’s Z‑hook system. Therefore, making them suitable for a range of sectors including education, commercial, healthcare and hospitality where acoustic control and a clear design identity are equally important.
Our FreeStyle baffles provide even more versatility for bespoke ceiling layouts. They are available in three standard heights and in white, grey or black fleece, with coloured fabric options on request. Each baffle size can be arranged horizontally to introduce interest, depth and variation across a ceiling. Installation is straightforward using OWA’s 24mm tee grid clip or wire-hanging kit. Thus, enabling baffle installation below exposed suspended ceilings or directly to the soffit. Hence, making them ideal for open‑plan offices, classrooms, corridors, dining areas and communal spaces where high levels of sound absorption are essential.
For the utmost design flexibility, we also offer our FreeStyle flex acoustic baffle which is a bespoke ceiling sound absorber made to measure. These bespoke acoustic baffles support the design of individual ceiling layouts, with custom shapes and sizes available on request. To enhance the ceiling design configuration further, we offer a choice of fleece or coloured fabric options. Additionally, if desired the customer can specify their own fabric.
We manufacture all our FreeStyle cells and baffles from 40mm glass wool. Each is fully recyclable and contains more than 70 per cent recycled content. By combining acoustic performance with aesthetic appeal, the FreeStyle range gives architects and designers the freedom to explore new ideas and create distinctive ceiling features without compromising on comfort or compliance.
