2024 OWA UK – What a busy year

As we get ready to enjoy the festive break, OWA UK is reflecting on what has been a busy and eventful 2024. This year saw new product launches and project completions set to give us a head start into 2025.

The launch of our S14 acoustic canopy

Earlier this year, we were excited to launch our new metal S14 acoustic canopy. S14 will enhance any contemporary open-plan interior space while offering Class A sound absorption. The standard rectangular-shaped 2m by 1m canopies come in one piece to create stunning ‘floating’ ceiling designs. Each has an integrated acoustic pad and suspension rods that make them easy to install and relocate. Also, we can supply custom S14 acoustic canopies to meet bespoke design requirements. Including a variety of different sizes, shapes, colours, perforations, and mesh patterns. This new addition to our OWAtecta metal ceiling range is helping us offer our customers even greater design flexibility. It builds on the earlier successful launch of the industrial-style demountable S80 acoustic raft.

Supporting Schüco

One of the first projects to benefit from the new S14 acoustic canopy was also completed this year. The new product was among the array of solutions we provided for use at the UK showroom of leading window, door, and façade systems supplier Schüco. Our team worked closely with Schüco to devise an acoustic ceiling design that complimented the interior but also significantly helped reduce echoes, boost speech intelligibility, and enhance the overall experience of those using the showroom.

Brilliant changes to our mineral tiles

As well as introducing new products, throughout 2024 we also strengthened our existing range of ceiling tiles. The popular, smooth, white fleece-covered Brillianto A acoustic mineral tile became 14mm. We now offer Brillianto A at a new lower price due to the 1mm reduction in thickness. The change reflects our focus on the environment and offering customers greater value for money.

Sustainable choices

Looking ahead to 2025, as interest in the new metal S14 acoustic canopy continues to grow, we are keen to work with more contractors as part of our ‘take-back’ scheme to reduce waste on cat A fit outs. If our standard S14 acoustic canopy is specified on a cat A fit out, and is not retained within the cat B, we will re-stock undamaged units. This enables the canopies to be reused on other projects. Thus eliminating waste and giving customers the option of choosing a recycled and ‘nearly new’ S14 acoustic canopy to contribute to their own sustainability targets. This new initiative builds on our commitment to responsible manufacturing and the recycle and reuse of our metal ceiling products. We are also committed to limiting the amount of harmful VOC content in our mineral tiles by championing the use of more sustainable, natural materials.

Offering our customers greater choice

To continue to support our customers in the year ahead, we will be holding significant stock in the UK across our full range of metal and mineral ceiling solutions which feature products of varying density and thickness to meet different requirements and design briefs. These include solutions for acoustic performance, fire protection, hygiene and humidity resistance.

Online and up to date!

With so much going on in 2024, this year we have made it even easier for customers, architects and contractors to stay up to date with the launch of our new dedicated OWA UK website. Unveiled in the summer, the new website provides quick and easy access to our extensive range of suspended ceiling systems and includes a search function so customers can view products by various criteria such as material type, sound absorption class, and stock availability.

We are looking forward to supporting our customers in 2025 and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
